We’re delighted to announce that the omega-3 products we produce, as well as all other marine-derived products, now have GOED and Friend of the Sea certification.
Ocean health and a sustainable supply chain from ocean to bottle have always been of the utmost importance to INW Bee Health. These new certifications work together, covering a list of different points within our supply chain.
GOED is a non-profit working to improve and maintain the quality of omega-3 products, with standards that are among the strictest, but also entirely voluntary for manufacturers.
INW is now a member of GOED and follows its Voluntary Monograph standards.
The Voluntary Monograph standards are rules that tell us what omega-3 products must contain for purity across oxidation, environmental contaminants, and fatty acid identity.
It’s the standard high-quality manufacturers use, with INW’s participation borne from our desire to manufacture supplements that exceed industry standards. The benefit to you is a safer, higher-quality product for retail.
Products that fall into GOED’s scope must meet the specs it sets out, and those specs need to remain throughout the product’s shelf life, not only at the point of manufacture, which is necessary to pass the random tests that GOED performs.
The products INW Bee Health manufactures for you can display the GOED quality label to demonstrate your commitment to the best quality supplements.
Friend of the Sea is an independent audit programme that certifies seafood and marine products. It ties into our GOED membership as it spans into omega-3, but with additional coverage of supply chains and marine-derived products.
Our supply chain benefits from it, as it covers refining and supplement quality parameters. Additional coverage for EPA/DHA label claims, contaminant testing, and the finished oil provides you with confidence in the products we produce for you.
A further refinement in omega-3 product quality is why our certification with Friend of the Sea makes sense.
As our customer, we can tell you with confidence that the chain from boat to bottle is traceable and independently verified. A crucial aspect of this is that Friend of the Sea has strict checks for overfishing and other bad practices.
INW Bee Health also holds several additional certifications that assure the quality of our manufacturing and the ethical sourcing of products.
BRCGS AA+ is relevant for all our products from powders to capsules. It’s awarded following a factory audit, and the ‘+’ symbol means it’s a grade from an unannounced one, which, of course, is more difficult to achieve if you’re not consistent in quality.
Another accreditation you’ll appreciate is GMP alongside our MHRA licence, which are complementary to our quality framework.
MHRA is our manufacturer’s licence, and GMP is the standard the MHRA inspects against, with INW Bee Health being compliant with both.
Soil Association certification also comes into play for the organic labelling of plant-based products. An example is any vegan omega-3 products you produce.
Halal certification means we produce products that are compliant with Islamic practices, with your products able to carry the label for retail.
Your customers want to purchase omega-3 and other marine-derived products, knowing that what’s in the bottle is of good quality and origin.
Our new GOED and Friend of the Sea certifications assure those points, letting you sell the best products that meet your own high standards.
